TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. ITEM CONDITION SCALE
The Essie’s Condition Scale is used to rate the level of wear on each item in our inventory.
Every item is inspected and assigned a condition rating by our team before being listed on our website, and is updated as needed.
This rating helps customers understand the overall condition of the garment prior to ordering. if you have any questions about why an item received a certain rating, or would like a more detailed explanation of the condition of an item, feel free to reach out to our teaM.
Like New = ★★★★★
Item appears nearly new with little to no visible wear. Fabric, structure, and details are in excellent condition.
Excellent = ★★★★
No visible flaws, but the garment may show very minor signs of wear from normal use.
Good = ★★★
Item shows minor signs of wear. Imperfections may be present but are subtle and do not noticeably stand out when worn.
Fair = ★★
Item shows moderate signs of wear. This may include visible marks, fabric wear, small pulls, or minor imperfections. The garment is still fully wearable and photographs well but may show noticeable signs of previous use.
Worn = ★
Item shows significant signs of wear such as noticeable fabric wear, marks, or imperfections. These items remain functional and wearable but have clear signs of previous rentals.
2. Orders & Reservations
Items are not reserved until checkout has been completed and payment has been successfully processed. Essie’s cannot hold or reserve items without a confirmed order.
All orders are final once placed.
3. Rental Period & Returns
All rental items must be returned by the end of the final rental day selected at checkout.
Items not returned by the end of the rental period will be considered late.
A $25 late fee will be charged for the first late day. An additional $5 per day will be charged for each additional day the item remains unreturned.
Late fees will be charged to the payment method stored on file.
Customers may return items at the storefront or by using the designated return drop box. Items placed in the drop box after the rental period has ended will be considered late.
4. shipping
Essie’s offers nationwide shipping within the United States.
Customers selecting shipping must choose a 5-day or 10-day rental period. Orders that do not meet this requirement may not be fulfilled.
Rentals are scheduled to arrive on the first day of the rental period; however, delivery dates are not guaranteed due to potential carrier delays. Essie’s is not responsible for delays caused by UPS or other shipping carriers.
Customers are encouraged to begin their rental period several days prior to their event to allow for potential shipping delays.
A prepaid return label is included with all shipped rentals.
Customers must return the rental by dropping off the package at a UPS location on the final day of the rental period and before the carrier’s daily dispatch time.
Failure to ship the item back on time will result in late fees.
If a return label is lost, customers must contact Essie’s for a replacement. A lost return label does not excuse late returns.
5. Refunds & Cancellations
All orders are final sale.
Essie’s does not offer refunds or cancellations once an order has been placed.
we are always willing to work with customers to resolve issues fairly, including providing refunds when appropriate and when an issue is determined to be our responsibility. with this said, we ask that customers contact us directly regarding any concerns before initiating a chargeback so we have the opportunity to address the concern. If a chargeback is filed without first attempting to resolve the issue with us, the customer will be responsible for the $15 chargeback fee, and any additional fees incurred by Essie’s.
6. Rental Date Changes
Rental date changes may be requested at least 14 days prior to the start of the rental period.
Requests submitted after this timeframe cannot be accommodated. Customers wishing to rent the item for new dates must place a new order. The original order will not be refunded.
7. Item Condition
Customers must inspect their rental item upon pickup or delivery.
If an item arrives damaged or significantly dirty, customers must contact Essie’s within 12 hours of receiving the item and provide their order number along with clear photos of the issue.
Claims made after this timeframe will not be eligible for refunds or adjustments.
Minor signs of wear, including small snags, loose threads, or light pilling, are considered normal for pre-worn garments and do not qualify as damage.
8. Cleaning & Alterations
Customers are not responsible for cleaning rental items.
All cleaning and garment care is handled by Essie’s. Customers must not attempt to wash, dry clean, or otherwise clean the garment.
Any alterations, tailoring, or permanent modifications to rental items are strictly prohibited.
Unauthorized alterations may result in additional fees or the full replacement cost of the item.
9. Fit & Size
Essie’s does not guarantee fit.
Customers are responsible for reviewing sizing information before placing an order. Fit issues do not qualify for refunds, credits, or exchanges. to prevent sizing problems, we offer in store try-ons. by placing an order, a customer understands the risk of an item not fitting.
10. Damage, Loss, or Non-Return
Customers are responsible for the care of rental items during the rental period.
If an item is returned with damage beyond normal wear, lost, stolen, or not returned, Essie’s reserves the right to charge the customer the full replacement value of the item, in addition to any applicable late fees.
11. Payment Authorization
A valid payment method must be stored on file to complete any rental order.
By placing an order, the customer authorizes Essie’s to charge the stored payment method for any applicable charges related to the rental, including but not limited to: Late fees, Damage fees, Replacement costs for lost or stolen items, and Any other fees outlined in these Terms & Conditions.
12. Acceptance of Terms
By completing a purchase with Essie’s, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Rental Terms & Conditions.
